RECEDING HAIRLINE
A receding hairline often presents a massive problem for those affected. Almost 50% of all men suffer from this, mostly hereditary and hormonal hair loss. Very often, this is the first sign of the beginning of age-related balding.
How do receding hairlines develop?
Receding hairlines are a special type of hair loss: it is the retraction of the natural hairline at the temples, and can occur at a young age in both men and women. Why this happens to about half of all men, often from the age of 20, and not to the other half is due to genetics. The cause of a receding hairline is usually an androgenetic, meaning hereditary, hair loss.
The hormone testosterone is responsible for a receding hairline, but also makes you male, causes your muscles to grow, and controls male sexuality. Testosterone also causes body hair to grow. In the scalp, however, testosterone is converted to dehydrotestosterone, or “DHT”, and DHT is exactly what hair roots are sensitive to: they only produce more restricted hair or completely fall out. This is how a receding hairline is formed.
Receding hairline - what to do?
Many cosmetics or hair products are praised as an effective remedy for a receding hairline. However, the widespread belief that propoer hair care is good for hair loss is wrong. Even a cosmetic hair restorer can not stimulate hair growth again. Why? With a receding hairline, the cause of hair loss is typically genetic and a dead hair follicle cannot be brought back to life!
For these reasons, receding hairlines can usually only be treated with hair transplants. We use very gentle methods to counteract the receding hairline and reconstruct the natural hairline. We take the smallest tissue units from the mostly densely covered areas of hair, the “hair ring”, and transplant them onto the bald spots at the temples. The hair grows there again—usually for a lifetime! Our many years of experience and our state-of-the-art techniques allow for maximum hair density and a natural growth direction.
Receding hairlines no more!
Numerous celebrities have done it: Jürgen Klopp and Kevin Costner have opted for a hair transplant as a remedy for their receding hairlines, and are open about their treatments. Receding hairlines are easy to counteract with today's modern methods.
